Smitten is a San Francisco based ice cream vendor founded in 2009. their ice cream is made to order by their patent Brrr® machine. They offer seasonal flavors from time to time. Motion graphics can be a good way to promote their latest seasonal flavor–Honey Honey.
To create a motion graphic video that promote Smitten Ice Cream’s seasonal flavor–Honey Honey, from start to finish.
I drew up the storyboard after I created the moodboard. I would like the theme of the video feel like spring and fresh.
After the storyboard got approved, I started creating the Illustrations. I wanted to give off a cute and whimsical vibe and feel, so I drew the illustration in a cartoonish style and used bright colors. The font choice–Guilia font, also matched the theme.
After the illustrations, I composed the video in After Effect, created a rough cut version and made more refinement on the tempo after feedbacks.
